Appearance: Ernst, even in his human form, retains a few physical features of a leopard, such as his claws, eyes and a couple of spots.

Personality: For someone associated with beasts, Ernst is actually quite mild-mannered. He treats everyone with respect, and although he dislikes it when little children pull on his tail, he would never have the heart to tell them.

Weapons: None. He fights with his claws and fangs.

Skills/Special Abilities: If he tries really hard, he can sustain his human form for a short amount of time without relying on a fullmoon night.

Other Abilities: Although the things he can do are very limited due to his condition, Ernst is still quite studious, always eager to learn about how things are done, and displays basic knowledge of math (unlike his tamer).

Runes: Beast Rune (permanent)

Weaknesses: Mature as he likes to be, the boy can go giddy over candy sometimes, a luxury he can't enjoy while constantly in leopard form.

Hailing from a small village in Zelant, Ernst and his childhood friend Norma came across a strange rune that permanently attached itself to his forehead, turning him into a leopard except when on fullmoon knights. Although he assures her otherwise, Norma still blames herself for the curse and the two set out on a journey to find a powerful wizard in hopes of removing the curse. They have been in several places, inlcuding the Island Nations, before traveling to the Queendom of Falena. Ernst was able to earn money for them by performing various tricks in his leopard form, due to him retaining his human intelligence even as an animal. On their travels in Falena, they met the rune scholar Levi in Prince Freyjadour's army, who agreed to find a way to remove the rune from Ernst under the condition that he may keep it for himself. Because of the turbulent times during the war, there was little to none progress made in removing the rune from Ernst. However, once the war concluded, the three of them traveled back to Zelant, back to the ruins where Ernst first aquired the rune. Unfortunately, just when it seemed that Levi had found the solution, something else activated in the ruins as the curse looked like it was about to be removed - a white flash appeared before Ernst's eyes and he found himself in Budehuc, confused and on his own. Did they do it wrong?
